Ariana Grande-Butera (/,a:ri'a:n@ 'gra:ndeI/ AR -ee-AH-n@ GRAHN-day;[note 1] born on June 26th the 26th of June, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Her unique use of the whistle register as well as her four-octave voice range is well-respected by media and critics. Grande has been honored with numerous awards throughout her career. This includes two Grammy Awards. One Brit Award. Two Billboard Music Awards. Three American Music Awards. Nine MTV Video Music Awards. Thirty Guinness World Records.

Grande began her career in music at the age of 15 in the year 2008's Broadway musical 13. Grande rose to stardom in the role of Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's television series Victorious (2010 from 2010 to 2013) and as Sam & Cat(2013 from 2013 to 2014). After viewing YouTube videos of Grande performing songs, Republic Records signed Grande in the year 2011. The US Billboard 200 topped Grande's 1950s-inspired R&B-influenced Pop and R&B debut album, [2] Yours Truly (2013). The single "The Way" reached the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Grande's voice and her whistle on the album drew immediate the comparisons of Mariah Carey.

In her third and second studio albums My Everything (2014), and Dangerous Woman (2016), she explored pop as well as R&B. My Everything experimented with EDM and gained global acclaim with its hit singles "Problem", "Break Free" and "Bang Bang" and Dangerous Woman became her first album to have four consecutive albums at number one in the UK. Personal struggles led to the trap-infused fourth (2018) and fifth studio album, Sweetener (2018), which were both commercial and critical triumphs. Sweetener was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, and Thank U, Next set a record for the biggest streaming week for a pop album and was nominated for Album of the Year. Grande was the first solo artist to be able to hold the top three places on the Hot 100, and also the first woman to reach the top of the UK Singles Chart. Grande's 2020 collaborations with Justin Bieber ("Stuck with U") and Lady Gaga's "Rain on Me", both won her the Grammy Award as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Grande extended her trap genre when she released her sixth studio album Positions (2020), that album as well as the album's title track debuted at number one in both the UK and US. In 2021, she collaborated with The Weeknd on the remix of "Save Your Tears", making her the sixth US number-one single.
